How to care for and clean your ACHCo Hat

When using your hat, please be aware that rapid temperature changes can adversely impact leather patches. If you get your hat and genuine leather patch wet, place in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to dry. If you get saltwater on your patch, gently rinse and then let air dry in a cool, dry area. Never use leather cleaning products on your hat patch. Most of these are harsh and will darken the veg-tan leather we use or strip the protective coating off the leather.

Never set a wet hat on a dashboard in the hot vehicle/direct sunlight to dry! Leather is skin cells, the rapid expansion or contraction of these will cause damage to your leather patch.

If your hat needs to be cleaned:

• Never wash in a washing machine or dishwasher
• We recommend washing in the sink or shower with a light detergent (like Dawn Dish soap)
• Lightly scrub the sweatband and hat
• Avoid soaking the genuine leather patch
• Do not use a brush on any of our patches
• For leatherette, use Dawn or LAs Totally Awesome to remove dirt or stains...use a microfiber rag and very gently rub in circular motions
• Let hat air dry in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight
